Type Locality and Naming

Lithology and Thickness
Volcanic. Dark to bluish grey basaltic and andesitic flows with volcanic breccias. Maximum thickness is 650 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Unconformable contact with underlying metamorphic complex.
Upper contact
Unconformable contact with the overlying Mahadeo Fm.
Regional extent
Garo Hills, Khasi & Jaintia Hills: It is exposed all along the Khasi Hills through Jadukata to Dauki.
